"The Treehouse"
Erika grew up on Martha's Vineyard, so this island holds a special place in her heart. In 2013, she happened upon a quaint cottage with a "for sale" sign, and fate led us to become its owner. Surprisingly, despite our island roots, we knew little about the famous gingerbread houses here. These cottages are charming, quirky, and full of color, and I feel incredibly lucky to own one nestled between the only two trees on the street which is how we came up with the name "The Treehouse".
Our cottage has four bedrooms and one bathroom, but we hardly use the indoor shower thanks to our beautiful outdoor one. It overlooks Sunset Lake with views of the harbor and ocean, offering a truly picturesque spot. If you visit early in the season, you might catch sight of the swans that grace the lake before it gets too busy.
